Fehed at home with the boys

Fehed arrived in Belgium on the snowy and very cold Febuary 3rd. Since then he has been very busy. He plays with Zino and Esed, he likes the whippets from my brother Sven and is very sweet to the borzoi of my mother. The borzoi are very happy that Fehed is calmer and sweeter than Esed was as a puppy, but then again he was the duracel azawakh :-)

One more day to go...

Tomorrow we are going to Berlin :-) finally the day has arrived that we can see Fehed and his siblings again. Saturday we are returning with our newest and youngest member and addition to our family and pack.

Shirin Foroutan, the owner of Bastien's Wanjala (Fehed's daddy) went to visit them again last week, and she made this movie of the puppies in the garden.

Little Fehed is not afraid of using his teeth, :-) which makes us very happy as we had some doubts that our little man would have some trouble with "defending" himself against Esed his brutal playing... Well after seeing this picture, we don't have any doubts anymore.

Thanks to Daggi for this picture and thanks to Daggi and Christiane for all the pictures of Fehed. Once he is in Belgium I can post my own pictures of our mister cutie!

Very quickly after Esed arrived in Belgium, we started to think about a friend for him. Our Zino is a bit to old to keep himself busy with the crazy azawakh and the way of playing :-) Therefore we decided that we would take a puppy from Tagola, the lovely import bitch from Christiane, where our Esed comes from. Finaly Tagola decided it was her time and she was mated by the nice and sporty Bastiens Wanjala. The result are six nice and healthy puppies, born on 30th November 2011.

Tagola, the nice and sweet import bitch from Christiane Thier Rostaing, Esed's breeder, is pregnant. Here some pictures of her on the 54th day of her pregnancy. Everybody who knows Christiane is counting and waiting very impatiently until the puppies are born. And so are we......

We had nice weather the past few days, so we decided to go to the beach once again, even when it is autumn! With weather like this the beach is a fine place to be instead of the woods. We had a lovely time!

We were present at the Azawakh Yearshow in Haan-Hochdal on Saturday 10th September 2011. Due to illness of Mrs. D. Getzinger, the judges present at the show divided the azawakhs between them. The males were judged by Mrs. Piesik, and the females by Mr. Jipping. It's a pity that at an Azawakh Yearshow the judges didn't treat the males and females alike. But anyway we had a nice day with our friends and family and the dogs were happy to see each other again and luckily the weather was great for the Azawakhs, sunny and hot :-)

Very busy summer!

The blog hasn't been updated since our Zino's birthday! Shame on me, but I had a good reason :-) we have had a very busy summer! We went on holiday to Germany, to Bremen and Berlin. We had a really nice time at the shows in Bremen, with Manuel and Nicole, the owners of Esed's brother Elham and sister Ewilen.

After Bremen we went to Berlin and enjoyed ourselves with nice walks, some sightseeing and visit to friends!

At the shows Esed was very succesfull, and so were Elham and Ewilen.

And last Sunday we went to the CACIB show in Mechelen, Esed obtained 1 Exc in the Open Class, CAC, CACIB & BOB. After the show we had a small photoshoot at on of the stands. The people were amazed that Esed stood still without a lead or collar and we had some nice comments about our boy :-)

Happy Birthday Zino

Our Zino, is 11 years old today. He is a very special dog for us. He arrived totaly unexpected as a 2 month old puppy with a recue organisation from Spain. When he was nearly 7 months old he became sick with Parvo. He nearly died. But Zino's love for us and to live was stronger, he survived. Now he's 11years old and we realise that he won't be with us for ever. But for now he enjoyes the priveleges of his age and gets his sweeties and love and special Zino time.

Spoiled Azawakh???

I recently bought a sleeping bag for Esed, so that he can sleep in it during the long, cold winternights.

He has tested it and approved the sleeping bag. I'm starting to think that I'm getting (or creating) a spoiled azawakh :-)

New Couch

Recently we bought 2 new couches for Zino and Esed. Naturaly Esed claimed one, well actualy both of them, but as he can't sit in two of them simultaneously, Zino may have the other one :-)

Spring in Belgium

Berlin

We went to Berlin, for a family visit and sightseeing tour and we did two shows while we were there :-) We had a lovely time, Esed went everywhere with us, and while we were sightseeing Berlin, the people and tourists were looking and taking pictures of Esed..... We also went to the Berlin Tierpark... Esed was happy to walk around the parc and see the animals, except the snowleopards, he did find them a bit scary!

Kortrijk

Esed had a fun-loving weekend. This because of the long awaited visitors from Berlin. Chrissi, Daggi & Andrea came to stay with us and the girls were with them. Esed enjoyed having the girls around so that he could play with them. He fell very much in love with Tagola ;-)
We also participated at the two dog show in Kortrijk, and once again we were confronted with the difference in judges and their idea of how an azawakh should look like and behave in the ring.
On Saturday the judge gave Esed a very good, because he had a rough head.... The girls were more appreciated and all three received an Excellent, and Djangalah the KBWC-Winner 2010 titel.
After the show, we went to the dogpark near our home, and Zino & Esed had a great time running and playing with the girls.

Sunday we were once again at the show, looking at the stuff for the dogs and buying some nice things. Eventually it was time again to be judged. This time the judge appreciated what she saw. She awarded our Esed with 1 Exc, CAC & CACIB and in the end even with the BOB. This we didn't expect at all, as Tagola, who received the same notation and became best female, is older and more mature than our crazy azawakh.
We were thrilled with these results.

In the evening we had a nice time with our guests and a lovely diner. The dogs were playing and fooling around. Sadly on Monday we had to say goodbye to our visitors. Esed misses the girls very much. We hope that Chrissi, Daggi & Andrea will repeat their visit soon.

Maybe we should start thinking of getting a younger (azawakh) friend for our Esed. Our Zino is enjoying his privileges of his old age and doesn't always play or agrees with Esed & his crazy escapades.

Getting ready

We are going to the dog show in Kortrijk this weekend, on Saturday it is the KBWC special and on Sunday the CACIB show. And as a big extra for Esed, he will be having visitors over from Germany. We are delighted to have Christiane, Daggi & Andrea in our home and the dogs. Esed will be happy to have a bunch of Azi girls in the house ;-)) as you can guess....

Indian Summer

We have been very busy these past few weeks, and also very successful. And up to now the weather has been kind to us. We have enjoyed a real Indian Summer. We went to Luxemburg, to Greppin (JAS 2010) and to Köln..... everytime we were accompanied by nice, sunny & dry weather. And on top of this we had a nice time with nice people and excellent results.

Esed's website will be updated this weekend.

Show Mechelen

Last saturday, August 21, Esed and I participated at the 30th CAC-CACIB Show in Mechelen (Belgium). As two months had passed since Esed had been to a show or to a busy place, because of our holiday, we were curious to see how Esed would react to the whole situation.

Well, he showed us that he doesn't care to go around a busy hall, where dogs are barking, people are shouting and in a tropical atmosphere (28 ° celcius outside and much warmer inside).

So when it was his turn to be showed to judge Jean-Jacques Dupas (FR), he did his best and made us proud, again ;-). He received the notation of 1 Excellent, Best Junior & BOB. Later in the day he went into the ring of honour with all the hounds of group 10. Judge Alexander Ivanov (RU) was impressed by our youngster, he placed him 6th Best in Group, while the other houds present were older & more experienced. We are truly thrilled with these results.

Trip to Denmark

We went on holiday to Denmark & we participated at the World Dog Show 2010 in Herning. We had a lovely time with our friends. At the dog show on Friday, we had a little family reunion for Esed, two of his half-sisters and one half-brother of the previous D-litter were there too. The day after the show we went to the beach with Esed, his mummy Essamet, his two half sisters Dafiinah & Djangalah and Tagola.

Thanks to Christiane, Daggi & Andrea for giving us such a nice day before we started on our night trip back to Belgium!

Showresults Lommel

We went to the CAC Dog Show in Lommel (B) today. To our surprise Esed did very well as up to now he was shy of being touched by strangers. But finally Esed realised that it isn't so bad to be touched by people he doesn't know. The jugdge, Mr. G. Tesics (HU) took his time, and was very happy that he could touch an azawakh, Esed really surprised us all and stood very calm and let the jugde stroke & touch him. Finaly we received the following results and very nice comments, 1 Excellent, Best Junior & BOB.
We are very happy with our lovely boy & these super results.

Time flies....

Time flies when you're having fun, or when you have an azawakh in the house. Esed is now 10 months old. He sure likes to keep us busy. Even so busy that we didn't update his blog or website. We will try to let you catch up with Esed, as he has grown in to a nice, strong, funloving azawakh!
Esed is getting used to his muzzle because we are going to start his training at the racetrack.

Yesterday we went to the sea-side, it was Esed's first acquaintance with the sea. He loved the sand and running on the beach. He played with Zino and even dared to get his paws wet in the small pools of water that was still on the beach. But he didn't want to go into the sea, not even to get his toenails wet ;-).

Growing up

Esed is now seven months old. As you can see in the pictures he is getting bigger and more gorgeous (must I say that I find him very handsome). He is very active ofcourse but such a darling for us. As each azwakh he likes the sun and when the sun shines he goes around the livingroom, following the sunshine so he can have a nap. Here you can see Esed with Tatiana, they love each other.

Snow again

Esed has been enjoying the snow again, we're "lucky" once again to have a lot of snow. Zino & Esed went out to play yesterday, but as it was really cold, Esed was wearing a sweater and his coat ;-) Once we were al back home they enjoyed the warmth and a bone.

Finally the winter has arrived in Belgium.... Yesterday it started snowing and after a few hours Antwerp was covered under a white blanket which created a lot of problems on the road! But Esed didn't mind. It was his first encounter with the white fluffy stuff, and boy did he enjoy it..... But alas we will not have a White Christmas so we will enjoy this as long as we can and go to the forest this weekend. Some pictures....

A visit to new friends

Recently Esed went for a visit to some new friends. We went to Greet & Geert and their 5 lovely borzois, 2 galgos and 1 old Scottish terrier. Once inside the house Esed, typically, started to play with the 2 borzoi females, Pippi & MoiMoi. He was a bit too enthousiastic for the galgos so they kept a bit away from him. Which is normal, if you're 10 or 11 years old you don't need a 4 month old azawakh puppy crawling all over you..... It was a short visit but Esed had a lot of fun and has learned that not each and every dog he meets wants to play with him, and that he has to learn to respect this.

Esed's first show

Yesterday we went to the show organised by the Royal Belgium Sighthoundclub, the KBWC, in Kortrijk. This show was organised at the same time as the Eurodogshow. Esed wasn't impressed by all the noise and people. He played with other dogs, not only sighthounds, and loved to go around the shops. He also played with Checkhov, the borzoi of my mother who was there too.

He got some new toys and a nice collar. And in the afternoon he put his first baby steps in the showworld. The jugdge was Mrs. M-C. Delabelle (B). Esed did his best and he received the notation of Very Promising and Best Baby. Because of this he had take part in the ring of honour with the other 5 sighthound-babies. And he made us proud by being placed 2nd Best Baby of the Sighthoundshow, thanks to jugde H. Zuber (CH). After the show we went home, Esed slept in the car and by the time that we arrived in Deurne, his batteries were reloaded and he played with Zino.

Esed four weeks at home

Esed is now four weeks in Belgium. In this periode he has been very busy and he made sure that he kept us busy too. Socialisation is very important for each dog but even more so for an azawakh. So up to now Esed has been several times to the market. He went for his vaccinations to the vet. He is a frequent user of public transport and he loves to go and visit Eric on the bus. Once he has seen Eric, he lies down for a nap untill we arrive at the busdepot and then we go home together. He likes to go away with the car. He has been to many different places where he could play and run free in the forest. He has been to the annual borzoiwalk, there he made some friends among those big and longhaired dogs, which is lucky for us as my mother has two borzois. By now he is also "famous" at the dogschool, as he is the only sighthound there at the moment, and he has made it very clear that he will learn and do what the instructors ask, when he wants to ;-). At home he loves to learn something new and play with Zino.

There is only one thing that Eric and I find so sad, Esed is growing up so quickly, the cute little baby azawakh is disapearing so fast.... but he turning into a nice, strong azawakh youngster.

Here some pictures of Esed, he loves to play with the other dogs in the family. My mother has two borzois and my brother (who lives at home) has a whippet. Some people would think that a puppy azawakh would be afraid of big, longhaired dogs... well Esed doesn't thinks so!

Friends of ours have a 6 month old labrador. They play very well together.

Welcome to the blog of Agg Amaias Esed. Esed is our first purebred azawakh.

He comes from the Agg Amaias kennel in Germany. After waiting for more than two years, until his breeder Christiane Thier-Rostaing decided to have a next litter with the beautiful Tigidit Essamet and Tombouktou’s Qutaybah, our dream became true. Thanks to Christiane Thier-Rostaing for trusting us with this wonderful boy.

Esed lives with us in Deurne, near Antwerp (Belgium), with our other sighthound Zino, a 9 year old cross galgo-sighthound. He accepted Esed and likes to play with him. For the moment Zino still has the advantage of being bigger, stronger and faster, but Esed is doing his best to keep up with Zino.
